Happy New Year!

I have never been more excited about starting a new year than I am right now. Mainly because of the major changes happening around our house inspired by a book called "The House that Cleans Itself". I won't go into detail here, but if you are curious you can check out my domestic blog.

Another thing I am excited about is the prospect of going back to school. Herein lies the irony, however. I have done everything except take the GRE and submit my professional references as I prepare to submit my application to attend Graduate school at Piedmont college to pursue a Maters of Arts in Teaching degree. Ever since I made this decision to go back to school though, I have enjoyed EVERY SINGLE SECOND that I have been spending here at home with my boys. I think that realizing that staying at home is a CHOICE, and not a sentence carried out over the course of an indefinite amount of years, I have realized how truly and thoroughly blessed I am. I mean, I have been there for my children (practically) every single second of their lives. I haven't missed a thing. First smiles, laughs, words, steps, I've seen and heard them all! I am the one who introduced them to crayons, markers, paint, play-doh, music, instruments, books, swing sets, etc. I taught them ABC's, 123's, colors, animals, math concepts, etc. Every single day they have been in the care of one of the two people who love them most on this earth. How incredible is that?

Take today, for instance. Brit wakes up at 7:30- we cuddle and laugh in bed until Tate comes bouncing into our bed at 8:15. We wrestle around and finally my bare feet hit the floor at 8:45. I cook eggs and pour juice for two pajama footed little boys and we all eat breakfast together. I've made some housecleaning headway today, played trains with Britton, played Domino's with Tate and read books to both of them. Now I am blogging away while Brit naps and Tate asks a million questions about snow. Who could ask for anything more?

So, I pray. I continue to pray for God's will to be done in my life. I pray for peace and discernment as God leads me in the direction He has planned for me. I will still study for the GRE and schedule the test. I'll search the BOE website for job postings. But I will also play outside in the snow, place cups of cocoa into tiny little frozen hands and read "The Little Engine That Could" for the tenth time today and...love every minute of it!
